One of our stunning saree in Red color this season. It's a luxury to be passed on to Generations. Beautiful meenakari floral booti all over with intricate detailing adds all the royalty to the saree. Floral gold zari border and breathtaking pallu bring the best of Indian weaving heritage. It's an elegant classic handwoven luxury.

Origin

Banarasi saree is made in Varanasi, an ancient city which is also called Benaras (Banaras). The saris are among the finest saris in India and are known for their gold and silver brocade or zari, fine silk, and opulent embroidery. The saris are made of finely woven silk and are decorated with intricate designs, and, because of these engravings, are relatively heavy. Their special characteristics include intricate intertwining floral and foliate motifs, kalga and bel, and a string of upright leaves called jhala at the outer, edge of the border is a characteristic of these saris. Other features are gold work, compact weaving, figures with small details, metallic visual effects, pallus, jal (a net-like pattern), and mina work.

Product Techniques

The handloom jala technique is one of the oldest in the history of weaving. It was used in the 19th century. Earlier when the design required fabric the weaver used the Jala technique. In this technique,  a Jala frame is required in which there is the Pagia, Naka, and Khewa are the main important parts of this Jala. It produces both in-border and cross-border designs on the cloth. In this technique, we used an extra weft to fill the design.
